Brownells and NRA Youth Sports Fest October 19, 2024

Just for youth — a safe, fun experience in shooting sports education
without cost to participants is planned for October 19, 2024. The rain date is October 26, 2024 Our Youth Sports Fest Event is open to all girls and boys, ages from 8 to 18. NOAAWIVA Sportsmen, Inc. will host the day event.
Our range is located on 30516 Chincoteague Road (Rt.175E) near Oak Hall, VA. The free event is provided as a community service supported by the Brownell/NRA Day Program. Free drinks and food will be available to all attending. Prizes and trophies will be awarded.
All required equipment is provided without cost (ex. — hearing and eye protection, guns to be used, ammunition and targets), with certified instructors supervising each activity. The event begins at 8:30 AM with registration and will end about 3:30 PM. Activities include:
  • Safety and shooting event orientation
  • Shotgun shooting at clay birds (11-18 years old) a.m. only
  • .22 LR rifle shooting at targets (8-18 years old) a.m. & p.m
  • Air rifle shooting at targets and silhouettes (8-18 years old) a.m. & p.m
  • Junior service rifle shooting at targets (13-18 years old). p.m. only

2024 NOAAWIVA Service Rifle Team’s Practice and Other Matches Dates

Service Rifle matches are conducted rain or shine – we have a covered firing line – with the exception of NAMED hurricanes actually due on the Shore that day! Mark these dates on your calendars!

Spring Training begins at 1000 this year and should be over by 1400 (2 PM).

Practice matches begin at noon with an hour of training. The match proper begins at 1300 and is generally over by 1530 (3:30 PM).

March 23rd, Spring Training A

March 30th, Spring Training B: (Slow) Match 1

April 27th, Camp Butner/Individual Practice

May 25th, Practice Match 2

June 29th, Practice Match 3

July 27th, Camp Perry/Individual Practice

August 31st, Practice Match 4

September 28th, Practice Match 5

November 9th, Annual Garand/Springfield/Vintage Rifle Match
